Goodbye Honey - 2020 - Director, Writer, Producer

Max Strand is an award-winning writer, director, and producer with over 15 years of experience in film and television. His directorial debut, Goodbye Honey, played festivals around the world—including the Philadelphia Film Festival, Dances With Films, and the Garden State Film Festival—and earned a spot on the 2020 Fantastic Fest Recommends list. In partnership with producer Josh Michaels, Max co-wrote and directed Rocky’s, a bold ensemble drama that drew the attention of top casting agencies and featured a breakout cast including Gil Perez-Abraham (The Batman), Jasai Chase Owens (The Expanse), Ben Tyler Cook (Pretty Little Liars), and Stanley Simons (The Iron Claw). The film was released by Gravitas Ventures in early 2025.

Together, Max and Josh co-founded About It Films, where they are currently packaging five new projects: three original horror films and two IP acquisitions—including Dimes Square and cult sci-fi novella Chains of the Sea, for which they’ve attached former intelligence official Luis Elizondo.

In addition to his directing work, Max has an extensive background in production, with credits on Silver Linings Playbook, Broad City, and Showtime’s The Affair. He is focused on character-driven genre films with global and cultural bite.
